Technology is a tool, a very useful tool, but it can never be seen as an end unto itself. Increasingly frequently, technology is being accepted over thinking, often with the excuse of personal or national panic This concept is distilled from the day to day experiences that form real life. We aren't talking
social commentary here. As the ranks of the wayward begin to include our family and friends, our own role in the fight to counter "Technology as a God" and ferment
social revolution is sealed. We have watched the ranks of the blind voyeurs grow at an alarming pace, and drawing parallels to pathology or marketing, the movement behind them has "gone viral". Tread carefully here and do not misquote us. We want everyone in the audience to understand what we are saying. It is essentially pointless, wasteful, and dangerous to rail against technology per se for two simple reasons. 1. Technology is defenseless. 2. Technology is made in the image of man. We must hold ourselves back from tramping the defenseless, which would do a poor job of addressing the real concern. Instead, we must focus on considering technology with a thoughtful eye. Seen as mirrors of ourselves, raging against the machines is suicide. Our struggle is not build of cowardice or suicide, so let it be clear: machine-haters we are not.
Machines as Idols
The common thread between voyeurs is the wholeheartedness by which they merge with technology, seeing it not as a tool but as a purpose. Once this mindset has been fully absorbed, the path to voyeur enlightenment is an INFORMATION NIRVANA. The dissolving of self and release of control can be reached through different paths by different sects. The Pontiffs who blindly proclaim the voyeur mindset and lead legions of the confused. They in particular employ
political commentary. The Nihilists who despise thought and themselves. The Cynics who scorn Knowledge based on reality.The Confused who have not considered the movement they are a part of. The Total Voyeurs who have actually transcended the realm of man and become fused with machines, which are so closely tied to their day to day that they can be seen as one and the same. Of course, these designations are constructed purely for illustration, and the voyeurs themselves may adhere to one or many philosophies. The voyeurs inability or unwillingness to seize control over their own thinking, the very thing which produces the SELF ITSELF, constitutes the critical existential dilemma. Voyeurs take heed: if you want to give up your control to an outside force, society has been built for this purpose and will be a better investment than your information nirvana. Your renunciation of yourself makes controlling you, as the herdsman controls cattle, much easier for the forces of triviality that work towards a dulled society.
